Oklahoma Energy FC (OEFC) West, the competitive club of Mustang Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) and Yukon Soccer Club (YSC), is pleased to announce the hiring of Danny Gibson as the new full-time Director of Coaching (DOC). Danny comes to the club from his current position as an OEFC Development Academy and OEFC Central coach. Currently working towards his USSF ‘A’ license, Danny is committed to growing the game of soccer in Oklahoma at the grassroots level. The club is excited to bring Danny’s passion and knowledge to bear in the communities of Mustang and Yukon.
Danny, a native of Glasgow Scotland, currently lives in Mustang with his wife Britany and three daughters. Gibson was a four-year starter at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and a PDL player for two different clubs including Oklahoma City FC before joining the Oklahoma City Energy FC front office as a Community Relations Manager. Upon accepting the position Danny stated, “I am honored and grateful to accept the Director of Coaching position for OEFC West. The potential of the Club is clear and testament to the foundation laid by those before me. I am excited for the opportunity to work with the accomplished staff and the many talented players from the Yukon/Mustang and West OKC area.”
Gibson believes that the club is on the cusp of great things and stated, “I look forward to collaborating with the players, staff and community to make OK Energy West a true leader for youth soccer in Oklahoma.” OEFC West is excited to start the next chapter of our journey with Danny at the helm.
Competitive tryouts for OEFC West will be held Saturday June 1st, with open camps being held on Thursday May 30th and Friday May 31st. Click here for more information.
